Oil Change & Tire Rotation Near You
Regular oil changes are the single most effective thing you can do to protect your engine and extend the life of your vehicle. Fresh oil lubricates, cleans, and cools engine components—and when it breaks down from heat and mileage, the damage it was preventing starts happening. At Midas Fairhaven we make it easy to stay on schedule with quick, honest service on Route 6.
We carry the full range of oil types for every vehicle on the road—synthetic blend and full synthetic—and we match the oil weight and grade to your manufacturer’s specification. Every oil change here includes a filter replacement, fluid level top-off, and a free Closer Look Vehicle Check™, so you leave knowing the condition of your whole vehicle, not just the oil.
Many customers pair an oil change with a tire rotation. Midas recommends rotating tires at every oil change interval for even wear and longer tire life. Doing both together saves a trip and keeps your maintenance on one schedule—ask about the combination when you book.
Walk-ins are welcome. Appointments are recommended and easy to schedule—call (508) 858-5722 or book online below.

Signs Your Vehicle Needs an Oil Change Now
Your vehicle gives you clear signals when oil is past due. Some are obvious, some are easy to miss, but all of them mean it’s time to come in. If you’re noticing any of these around Fairhaven, Acushnet or New Bedford, bring your vehicle in.
Oil Change Light or Reminder
SouthCoast driving conditions matter. Stop-and-go traffic on Route 6, short hops across the bridge to New Bedford, and New England cold starts are all hard on engine oil. These count as “severe” conditions under most manufacturers’ definitions, which means your oil degrades faster than the standard interval suggests. When in doubt, come in.
Oil Change Services at Midas Fairhaven
Every oil change at Midas Fairhaven includes filter replacement, fluid top-offs, and a complimentary vehicle check. You choose the oil—we handle the rest.
Synthetic Blend Oil Change
A blend of conventional and synthetic base oils, offering better high-temperature protection and longer service life than conventional oil — at a lower cost than full synthetic. A strong choice for most SouthCoast drivers.
Full Synthetic Oil Change
Full synthetic oil provides superior engine protection across temperature extremes, extends change intervals, and is required by many modern vehicles. If your owner’s manual specifies synthetic, this is non-negotiable.
Oil Filter Replacement
Every oil change includes a new oil filter matched to your vehicle’s requirements. The filter helps trap dirt, metal particles, and engine byproducts before they circulate through your engine. Fresh oil is only as effective as the filter protecting it, so we replace both together as part of the service.
Fluid Level Top-Off
During your oil change, we check and top off key vehicle fluids where applicable, including washer fluid, coolant, power steering fluid, and other accessible maintenance fluids. This helps catch low fluid levels early and gives you a better picture of your vehicle’s overall condition before you leave the shop.
Oil Change + Tire Rotation
Closer Look Vehicle Check™
Every oil change visit includes a complimentary Closer Look Vehicle Check™ — a visual inspection of brakes, tires, fluids, filters, belts, and hoses. You’ll leave knowing the full picture of your vehicle’s condition, at no extra charge.
How Do You Know Which Oil Your Vehicle Needs?
As ASE‑certified technicians, we always start in the same place: your owner’s manual. That’s where the manufacturer spells out the exact oil specification your engine was designed around—viscosity grade, service rating, and whether it calls for synthetic or synthetic‑blend oil. Our job is to match that spec, not guess or upsell you into something your vehicle doesn’t need.
For many vehicles built in roughly the last decade, the factory recommendation is a low‑viscosity synthetic oil such as 0W‑20 or 5W‑30. Automakers switched to these oils because modern engines have tighter internal clearances, advanced variable-valve-timing systems, and longer drain intervals, which all need better cold-flow and high-temperature protection than older conventional oils can provide consistently.
If your owner’s manual specifies 0W‑20 or 5W‑30 full synthetic, you should stick with a synthetic oil that meets that spec. In some cases manufacturers do allow a conventional fallback in an emergency—for example, using a different viscosity temporarily until the correct synthetic is available—but they expect you to return to the specified synthetic at the next oil change. For everyday service, conventional oil is not a smart long‑term substitute in an engine that was engineered around synthetics.
If you drive an older vehicle designed for conventional oil, we can still service it with high‑quality synthetic‑blend oil that meets the manufacturer’s rating—but full synthetic may still offer better high‑temperature stability and cleaner internals. The bottom line: there isn’t a one‑size‑fits‑all ‘best’ oil. There’s the right oil for your engine and your driving. When you bring your vehicle to us, we look up the factory specifications, talk with you about how and where you drive, and then recommend the synthetic-blend or full synthetic oil that keeps you within guidelines and gives your engine the protection it was designed for. That judgment comes from trained, ASE-certified technicians—the kind of people we invest in and the kind we’re always looking to hire.

SouthCoast Drivers We See Every Day
The vehicles SouthCoast families actually drive are the Toyota RAV4, the Ram pickup, and the full mix we see on Huttleston Ave every week.
If you drive around Fairhaven, Acushnet or New Bedford, you already know what’s on the road here. The Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V are the most registered vehicles in Massachusetts and we see both constantly. But the SouthCoast also runs heavy on work vehicles — Ford F-150s, Ram 1500s and Toyota Tacomas are regulars in our bays, driven by tradespeople, contractors and families who put real miles on their trucks year-round.
We service all of them. Every oil change starts the same way: a technician who knows your specific vehicle’s oil specification, not a generic recommendation. A 2020 RAV4 Hybrid and a 2021 F-150 with the 5.0 V8 have completely different oil requirements, and we treat them that way.
What To Expect When You Visit Our Shop

Locally owned.
Personally accountable.
Not a corporate store — a community shop with a name on the door.
A Local Owner You Can Actually Reach
Midas Fairhaven isn't run from a regional office. It's a locally owned shop led by someone who lives and works on the SouthCoast, and who answers for the work that leaves the bay.
Decisions Made Right Here
Service recommendations, pricing, staffing, and shop standards are handled in Fairhaven. That means straight answers, real accountability, and a team that wants you back next time.
Built on Long-Term Relationships
We're not after the one-time job. The goal is to be the shop Fairhaven and Acushnet drivers call first—for oil changes, brakes, tires, alignments, and everything after.
Invested in the SouthCoast
From everyday customers to community work like Project Spark, this shop is part of the town it serves. When the SouthCoast does well, so do we.
Project Spark
Matthew is an active participant in Midas Project Spark.
Project Spark donates vehicles to veterans and families who need reliable transportation. Matthew has been recognized by the local VFW and community organizations for his work across the SouthCoast.
Matthew Wall
Matthew is a hands-on owner. You’ll find him at his shops, not behind a desk somewhere else. He built the Wall Group on one idea: working families deserve safe, reliable transportation and honest service. That’s how every one of his SouthCoast locations runs.
Oil Change FAQ
Straight answers to the questions we hear most at the Fairhaven shop.
It depends on the oil type your vehicle requires and how much oil it takes. Synthetic-blend service is the lower-cost option; full synthetic runs higher. Most vehicles fall into a predictable range based on those two, and we quote you an exact total—including any extra quarts or fees—before we start. Call (508) 858-5722 or stop in at 178 Huttleston Ave for current pricing and offers.
A standard oil change takes 30 to 45 minutes, including the filter change, fluid top-offs, and Closer Look Vehicle Check™. If we find something during the inspection that needs attention we'll tell you, but we won't hold your vehicle longer than necessary. Appointments move faster than walk-ins during busy periods.
It depends on your vehicle and the oil it takes. Synthetic blend is typically every 5,000 to 7,500 miles; full synthetic every 7,500 to 10,000 or more, depending on the manufacturer. Regardless of mileage, we recommend at least one change a year — oil degrades from heat cycling and time even in low-mileage vehicles. Always follow your owner's manual.
If your owner's manual specifies full synthetic, yes—it isn't optional. Most vehicles built in the last ten years require it, and using conventional oil in a car that specifies synthetic can affect engine protection, fuel economy, and potentially your warranty. Not sure what yours takes? Bring it in and we'll look it up.
Yes, and it's one of the best maintenance habits you can build. Most manufacturers recommend rotating tires every 5,000 to 7,500 miles, which lines up with most oil change intervals. Doing both at once means one trip, one schedule, and tires that wear evenly and last longer. Ask about the bundle when you book.
Yes, walk-ins are always welcome at Midas Fairhaven. If you're on Route 6 and need an oil change, pull in at 178 Huttleston Ave during business hours. That said, appointments help during busy periods—especially Saturday mornings. Call (508) 858-5722 or book online to reserve a time.
